The girl in the shell

Aishu

The season changed; the leaves began to fall;

The clouds turned black, heavy with his anger.

The wind of thoughts began to wrap around her,

And she began to shatter into drops

That raindrops touched the heart of the earth.

She embraced herself because no one ever tried to.

That embrace became a shell of protection;

Away from reality, the storm, the rain, the wind that hurt her…

The shell began to feel as dark as outside world,

She was scared.

She poured her heart out like the stormy rain.

She cried for help, but the storm drowned out her voice.

All she pleaded for was love,

And all she received was a storm…

The storm and rain continued,

As though they never wanted to leave her…

The days passed; she began to accept her life.

She slowly untangled the webs of attachment

Woven around her heart,

The darkness from outside still followed her,

But the light of hope began to soften it.

She wiped the walls,

Erasing the stains left by the weather.

May be the storm won’t last forever.

May the rain never break her shell,

And let her make the shell live like this forever…

    This is mythical in nature and unfolds as a metaphor being surreal. Very nicely done
