THE WITCHING HOUR

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

As if a dream
That had but waited
For its birth
On this night fated
Its unfurling fingers
Across night sky
Its eyes to open
Vision to pry.

Slowly
But with caution
All my fears
Now are forming
Distance closing
To meadows edge
Whispered voices
Now to pledge.

Allegiance with
The hour witching
Phantom shapes
Fast and wisping
Nightmare now
Beneath my feet
The whining grass
My soul to meet.
