Stop Trying To Play Me

Anthony Hanible

You smiled sweet

Hid deceit

Snake skin

Beneath your feet

You dealt cards

Stacked the game

Mind games wrapped in false names

You plot

I spot

You scheme

I gleam

Smoke veil

Truth trail

Mask crack

Step back

I saw the strings

Felt the pull

Heard your lies

Spill too full

Quick trick

Same shtick

Cold stare

Don't care

Stop trying to play me

I'm not blind

I'm not weak

I hear truth when shadows speak

You wore masks

Changed your face

Ran your circles

Lost your place

Wire lies

Tired eyes

Shade trade

Blade made

Every promise turned to smoke

Every word a crooked joke

I've walked fires

Stood through storms

Survived wolves in human forms

Heart steel

Scars heal

Clock ticks

Truth sticks

Save your act

Save your scheme

I'm awake from every dream

Game through

I see you

Dust drops

Show stops

I know my worth

I know my name

You'll never control me

Fold me

Or play me again
