Even silence

JENNY M GUERRIER

When you love someone, even silence is lively. It fills the spaces between words with the soft click of understanding, the way a room feels warmer just because someone is breathing in it. And when the love is shared, it’s like two gears mesh together in harmony— no forcing, no skipping teeth, just the steady turn of two lives finding the same rhythm without needing to announce it. When two people are in love, they are always in each other’s shoes, trying to make sure the other person is happy and feels loved. They notice the small tiredness in a voice before it becomes words, they shift their weight so the other can rest, they carry the quiet hurts as carefully as if those hurts were their own. And happiness becomes a shield against all negativity, against all negative emotions. Not a loud armor, not something polished or perfect— just the plain, stubborn fact that two people chose each other and keep choosing, day after ordinary day. That’s the whole of it. No grand speeches required. Just the gears turning, the silence staying alive, and the shield holding because neither one ever lets it drop.
