Tune: St Agnes [Series: Hymns to Saints Tunes 19]
('Jesus, the very thought of thee')
Psalm 86 v.15-17
*********
You, O Lord, are a God full thus
Of compassion, gracious
Longsuffering, and plenteous
In mercy, truth to us
O turn to us, have mercy on
Us, give us strength, each one
Of you servants, and save us each
From dangers, we beseech
Show us a token, sign for good
That those which hate us should
See, and be ashamed because you
Help, comfort us, 'tis true
