Still Luminous

rrodriguez

Alone, yet still shining,
Excluded from a circle,
Yet not diminished by the exclusion.

Drifting beyond familiar constellations,
Yet burning with its own light,

Knowing that loneliness and greatness
Sometimes travel together.

Without self-pity,
Carrying a quiet radiance
Through the isolation.

No longer defined by exclusion,
But by its inherent nature of light,
Remaining luminous
Even after being cast out.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Inspired by the image of a solitary star shining beyond familiar constellations, this poem reflects on exclusion, perseverance, and the enduring nature of inner light. It is a piece I have carried with me for several days, working through it both on paper and in my thoughts until it found its final form.
