Please don't leave me.
The shadows lengthen in the hall,
My footing’s not as sure,
The memories that I held so dear
Slip softly through the door.
I’m slowing down, the fog rolls in,
The days are growing cold,
I feel the quiet, chilling weight
Of simply growing old.
The names and faces drift away,
The past becomes a blur,
A stranger lives inside the glass,
Or so it does appear.
Yet through the mist, my heart still knows
The bond that we have made—
You are the brother of my soul,
Whose love will never fade.
So please, my friend, don’t walk away
As twilight claims the sky;
Don’t let the fading of my mind
Pass your devotion by.
Hold tight my hand, remind me who
I used to strive to be,
And when I can’t recall the world,
Oh, please... remember me.
Love your friend, Me

A heart touching poem of fear of loss. It may be the fear of loosing a friend, a relationship, one's own memories or sense of being. Nicely penned in rhyme it is quite touching. Well done
