Yesterday and Tomorrow

rrodriguez

Yesterday is where my memory of her begins,
when I first saw her, still so young.

Love was delayed, but not denied;
in that home, a first love was unknown.

Only later did I understand
that I had entered God's horizon.

And today is the tomorrow
that began yesterday.

    Your last stanza explains it all. Nicely done

      Thank you! I worked on this poem quite a bit, and this is what I came up with. Reflecting on our forty-four years of marriage and that first encounter brought back a flood of memories.
