severed ties

coracaodacripta

so many broken hearts

emptying, gradually, the blood from their domes

filling the basins of their guts with alkaline

eroding away as their bones fix the contortion of their bodies

into a mold that persuades them against the current

that would take them home.

there's nowhere like it

but in the heads of the sullen

their love so fantastical

has stolen a part of them

and hid it away at the core of a being

that belongs to someone

who isn't there anymore.

what a privilege

not to know what that feels like.
