Turning
And turning
And turning and turning
And turning and turning and turning and
Going
And going
And going and going
And going and going and going and
Moving
And moving
And moving and moving
And moving and moving and moving and
Please just let me catch
my fucking
breath.
Let me finally mourn the bodies underneath us
I have so many voicemails to answer
Lend me enough time to travel and desperately
Feel the reckoning cold dirt above you and beneath my face
As I lay burying my fingers trying to embrace and
Feel what once was
Let me finally let go of the warmth I used to feel
So I can accept that
This chilly breeze I feel is the same one that used to seep
through the front door when you were gone too long.
The same breeze that whipped against the house
making the wooden floors snap and mimic your footsteps.
Which is still the very breeze that whistled through the Grove
While I waited for you to come home
Because now you’re waiting for me
