I can be straight up with you
Knowing I won’t be judged for sounding strange
I can evolve, I can grow
I can mature, I can change
Me being me doesn’t freak you out
Sometimes I’m sure, sometimes I doubt
You understand that and you admit you go through that as well
I’m encouraged to be honest just by knowing there’s nothing I can’t tell
You hold my hand and loosen grip when you feel I need space
When you are angry or upset you just say it to my face
You don’t do that to hurt me and you don’t want to offend
It’s just you being real and showing me you don’t pretend
When we have an argument we can just talk things through
You listen to me
I listen to you
No one is boss, no one is supposed to obey
When I’m facing something rough, I know you’ll be there every step of the way
I count on you and you count on me
That is how we are and that’s how we want us to be
