Your shiny blonde hair sweeps over your forehead
Covering half of your eyes
Oh your eyes
Blue and shining in the sunlight
They don’t understand
They don’t understand our connection
The way my heart stops when I see you
I duck away
Afraid
Afraid of your thoughts
I want you to love me the way I love you
The other girls giggle
They don’t know our bond
You looked past my geeky image
And saw me.
But now I wear a mask
Afraid of judgement
I am ashamed
It hurts knowing we will not
And can never be
Together
All I need is for you to hold me
Cradle me
And tell me we can be together
And will be
And that nothing else matters.

- Comment from author about the poem: This Poem is about a boy who i was best friends with in primary school and when we moved into secondary we stopped talking. I loved him all the time i knew him but in high school my love blossomed and this poem is about giving up all hope.
