Death... i see

meadowsprings

it was dark

I was alone

I sat there and waited

for you to come

I looked at my watch

a thousand times

I looked through the trees

again and again

where are you sweet love

where have you gone

was this all a game

a dream

a lie

I stare out

looking but not seeing

still no sounds

no footsteps

no words

I  checked the note

and see everything I had missed

the laughter behind it

the joke that I fell for

I walked to the trees and didn't stop

I walked past the river

I didn't stop

I walked to the bridge

and walked some more

walk walk walk

at school everyone looks around

but they don't see me

they laugh and they joke

but they don't know

something was found in the woods

everyone's listening

a body!! heartbroken!!

everyone stops and stares

its light now

but I won't see it

I see the darkness

I see the dreams

I see...

...death!!!

I like rating great poems with a 10. In my opinion the realest ones like sorrow or struggle and pain show the deepest of emotion and you can show it all. Keep it up. 🙂
