Broken Hearts

meadowsprings

we walked home together every night

we met every lunch and every evening

we laughed together

had fun together

a month of joyful days

a month of dreams

a fantasy

I once believed

then that month ended

the words I heard

and the words I didn't hear

the words you said

the ones you spoke

I thought you were different

a lad I could trust

a friend

not an enemy

someone to rely on

someone to help

I guess I was wrong

cause all you did

was break my heart

all you did was destroy my dreams

broken hearts and forgotten dreams

a life smashed

a fantasy destroyed

a soul ripped apart

by cruel words

broken hearts, alive and forgotten

batted and bruised

a wreck

thanks to you

after all that

all that’s left is a....

....a single tear!!!

    I like your poetry,
It expresses deep emotion. I love those poems. It's hard to hear things you don't like hearing but don't let it bring you down. Judging from your poems you sound like a good person so like I said don't let words get the best of you. 🙂
