Walking in my Shoes

nair36

Walking in my shoes

Is like walking in quicksand

And standing in my position

Is like no legs to a kickstand

So I keep falling over

Nothing to hold me high

But there really is more to me

That meets thee eye

Walking in my shoes

Is like walking on thin ice

Suicidal actions

Are actions I’ve been in twice

I’ve been in more situations

That I’d rather not speak of

But I’ve gotten out of them

With a rather unique love

Walking in my shoes

Is like sprinting a million miles

And when I get done

Haters break a billion smiles

People get the best of me

But I’ve grown to it

Life is hard and hectic

But I’ve blown through it

Walking in my shoes

Is like running on a treadmill

I’m only running in one place

Trying to keep my head still

But there are times

That it just won’t stay

With all of these sins on my shoulder

It’s no wonder I don’t pray

Walking in my shoes

Is like lost in a dream

Moving gets harder

Great with exhaust and can’t scream

My dreams are more like nightmares

That I cannot wake up from

When I get to my climax

I get dreadfully deaf and dumb

Walking in my shoes

Is like walking with shackles

I’m chained to the ground

When reality tackles

I struggle with battling

To be a bigger man

My words can’t explain this

But my poetry can
