My Better Half

Alexandre Landsley

I've been on my own before, but not once have I felt so alone

It's all so cold, no one to hold, I thought you said you'll never let me go

My heart beats slow, girl I miss you, I just ought to let you know

Since you've been gone, my life has turned into a slideshow

Photo after photo, in my head I'm replaying some of the best memos

It's unfortunate, that with time they all seem to fade, but I refuse and I won't let our love do the same

What some would give for what we had is nothing compare to what I will give to get it back

I'll fight whatever funny looking beast there is, climb the highest mountain just to shout your name on top of it, hell I'll even swim across the farthest ocean if only, you were on the other side of it, whatever it takes to prove my love, I swear I will do it

God forbids someone should dare me, then I'll be forced to show them who's worth all this trouble

And they'll understand, that I have found my unmatched and unequal better half.
