Hold fast to God

gerrylegister

Hold fast to God’s helping hand,

For we are weak but he is strong

And every heart he understands,

When life is pressing you down,

Having lost the stars on your crown,

And your face display a foregone frown,

Hold fast to God’s helping hand.

Newer visions will come tomorrow,

And old dreams will quietly go,

Taking the pain and the sorrow,

To where strength becomes strong,

With broken heart conquered and sunk,

There will be more tears to come,

And grief joins the victory already won.
