New boy in new school,
I saw him from a distance,
Not very talkative,
Had a nice personality,
Nobody talked him,
They left him alone,
Even though he didn’t want to be,
I watched him all day long,
And for the next couple of days,
He ate lunch in the stairs,
He didn’t have any friends,
He wasn’t a bright student,
Loneliness swallowed him one day,
Seeing him crying,
Compelled me to go to him,
Putting my hand on his shoulder,
I helped him calm down,
But after a few minutes,
He left.
Making me realize,
I wasn’t any different from the others.

- Comment from author about the poem: It's actually reflecting someone I know. Someone who had a very well difficulty adapting to a new place.

Very sad poem, would like to work on it as a fusion poem; it has lots of promise if rewritten; I would like to do so if you don't mind. And then we could kick it back and forth and when finished you can post it as fusion. BWP... James... I like the realization in this work; because the realization is what makes this poem work.
