The Ayesha poem

espresso2014

                        The Ayesha Poem

Ayesha is my name.

I have a nickname it is Esha and my greatgrandmother always called me Alesha.

I learned that Ayesha can also be spelled as Aisha.

Aisha is the Arabic spelling and Ayesha is the English spelling.

I’m an English major in college too.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I would love to give my children African names. There are books of names of African origin because I am a proud Black-Guyanese woman in my early 30s.
