What Can Make A Poet

bigwolf

We may place our hearts and minds on the page

And fill our chapters along our way

Being left alone in uncertain times

Words and imagination will never fade

Words of mankind will come and go

But history will prove that truths shall last

Given the next generations time to understand

As we are read outloud by a different cast

Poetry carried from pages to thoughts

Of countless numbers to be taught

Then one day they may find

A hunger for knowledge not left behind

So many words written generations ago

Were written by poets for the world

An unwavering mark throughout history

Seeds for the coming future is what we sow

what a wonderful way to convey how the words of the poets will carry on for different generations just as we continue to read and learn from the poets of the past. beautifully written and a lovely read.
