Daybreak

bigwolf

I rose early with growing excitement

Anticipation filling my mind

As I waited for the morning to arrive

My thoughts filled of passing times

Colors that will decorate the sky

A memory for all eternities

Feeling so alive as I watch

Overwhelmed by what I see

How can I speak of the morning

Knowing the previous night must die

Just so we may all be witness

To something so special as a sunrise

yes, this is a beautiful poem. I too like to watch in the morning. It is an exciting time of day. But , you're right it's also the death of another day.... a paradox...a happy/sad occasion. diamond
