Stand Alone (a pantoum)

diamonddagger

How very soft and cozy life is now
how warm and protected you are there
oh little one in mother's arms
Knows not yet of the world's evil

How warm and protected you are there
Wrapped in mothers adoring arms
you know not yet of the world's evil
when you will stand alone afraid

Wrapped in mothers adoring arms
oblivious to the cold and ice of wickedness
when you will stand alone afraid
But your fearless mother shall prepare you

Oblivious to the cold and ice of wickedness
you'll learn to be brave in the face of fear
when you will stand alone afraid
You'll draw your sword like any man and fight your foe

You'll learn to be brave in the face of fear
oh little one in mother's arms
You'll draw your sword like any man and fight your foe
how very soft and cozy life is now

what a beautiful poem of love and truth... I only wish a the grown man with drawn sword could remember how safe he felt in his mothers arms.
