My Deer

diamonddagger

I wandered through
the woods today
and came across a deer
It looked at me unafraid and
I happened to have an apple
in my possession
slowly I pulled it out
she didn't bat an eye
with caution, I walked up to her
she stood her ground
she took the apple
and let me pet her,
it turned out later
she'd been someone's pet
who'd taken off
I hope she comes back
to visit again
