Sweet Summertime

bigwolf

The sun sparkled like glitter

In the early dawn of morning

A neon rainbow played above

As the day began to awaken

Sweet summertime, you are here at last

The birds announcing your arrival

Their songs lift the hours

And the flowers show their colorful dress

The butterflies are out in attendance

Watching a parade of ladybugs

That were dancing through the air

On wings that carried them in unison

The grass even shows it's approval

Waving to all that pass by

The gentle breeze seductively kissed my cheek

Summer, please stay all year long

bigwolf, Your poem made me think of cotton candy, ice cream cones
and catching fireflies. Those were the long ago days of summer. Beautiful.

Thank you soki. Isn't it nice to go home again, even if it is in our memories.
