When you left me all alone.

R.Lokeshwaran

I stepped inside the roomWith people staring and murmuring to themselvesAnd then came a silence,A regrettable one.I see you thereLying in the centre, covered in white.Something pricked me insideTo see you not moving an inch. I swiftly scan across the room to see several eyes filled with tearsCouldn’t take it anymore as I am a human myself,And wept till my sorrow had vanished.I gradually took my steps towards you Only to have my mind crammed with memoriesOf you holding my hand,Laughing at my jokes, cheering me with your expressionsYou loved me so much, I always knewBut God never gave me a chance to say it too. Oh, that serene look on your faceConvinced me significantly  It was like you wanted to say‘Everything is going to be just fine’And granted me the confidence To lead an unplanned life without your presence. And then my eyes opened unexpectedly It had all been a dreamExcept the tragedy had already occurred And you were nowhere to be seen.I found myself in the aircraftArriving towards my destinationI spent every minute miserablyEver since I heard the news of your departure.I exit the airport with much dismay To not find you to receive me with your smiling face And your lovable hug saying- ‘Welcome back’My heart cringed insideEvery time I thought of youThat you will be beside me no more. We took our vehicleAnd rushed to the placeWhere I would see you For that one last time.I wept and wept Till my eyes felt impaired But nothing hurts more thanTo see you being covered with earth. To you, I would like to sayI repent every moment forNot being by your sidePlease forgive me For me being such a childI had my reasons but I loved you the mostMore than a man can measureI will always look up to youAs you were always and will beA piece of me. Nanabba, you will forever be in my heart.Nanabba, you will forever be in my heart.
