Opposites Attract

Laurel Wreath

Locked

In a cloud of gloom

Locked

In the scent of love

Locked

In what was 'us'

The fierce force of

The magnet you so carelessly wear around your neck

Jauntily,

As if it were some fine piece of jewellery,

The heart that you wear on your sleeve

Has found a strong opposite magnetic shard in mine,

The fierce force that it emits

Leaves me with no place to stand,

No option but

To love you

With every particle in my body,

I am drawn to you

Without choice

Another magnet sits in my gut and,

Let me tell you truthfully,

Every part of it aches

For you,

Only for you, my dear,

The soul wrenching ache crosses

The Atlantic ocean

In search of you

The ache is a pulling force,

I feel it in my gut

Constantly,

It won't let me rest,

It knows what my soul longs for,

Who it longs for,

Who it weeps, laughs and beats for

We are caught in limbo,

A place between two places

Waiting for something to happen,

Oh so patiently waiting

Unable to go forward

Unable to go back

Restlessly, tirelessly we fight the imaginary space

Like we are trapped between two separate white boxes

Feeling lost

In the space that is the darkest shade of blue

Waiting for reality to crumble around us and swallow us whole

With only the moon and the stars

To guide us to

Hope

The endless twilight is all that we share
