I Do Not Care, I Do Not Know

Polaris

I do not care, I do not know, where it is I am to go.
Far away a distant land from my dreams is where I'll land.
In my flight across the sky, over the sea, is where I'll find.
Something I lost long ago, a part of me I have denied.
No one warns you when you're born to this unforgiving place.
Where survival means denial of a part you should embrace.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this poem right before I returned to the US from studying abraod in Germany. I found that even though the people where a lot colder than I was use to they were also a lot more accepting of certain life style choices.
