Hidden Self

Polaris

I do not know if you are near.
I do not know what I should fear.
I just know I do not wish...
To shed again another tear.

In my path just filled of sorrow
Hope is not part of tomorrow.
In the lights of all hopes lost...
I wish another's luck I could just borrow.

Like a candles burning light.
My own will use to shine bright.
Like a flame that came extinguished...
My own ember became night.

So many that I use to trust.
All because of my souls' lust.
So wrong I use to be, I know...
Now I struggle to adjust.

The doors to my heart are now closed.
In its chambers all my pains are enclosed.
This is why I fear to let you...
Learn about me, to the world my true self have exposed.
