Three

justwrite

Three little faces so sweet and so pure.

look up at me and with light.

Asking me questions just to be sure,

that what they are thinking is right.

Three pairs of hands that wave all around,

jumping and playing for hours.

Hugging and tugging, touching the ground,

Adoring and picking the flowers.

Three pairs of feet that  just dont tire,

always finding new places to roam.

Following every whim and every desire,

But they're always led back home.

Three big hearts that pound like thunder.

They fill me up with pride.

Hearts so loud, they make me wonder.

Do I deserve a seat on this ride?

This journey that im taking,

three angels walk with me.

Inhaling my love and I exhale theirs

So easy, like one...two...three.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem is one about my three children aged 10, 4 and 2. I often feel overwhelmed at the reality of being a mother and the beauty in watching them grow with you, how you need them as much as they need you.
