She's standing weary in the midst, a world built around her closing.
She's recalling all the roads she took, the short cuts she had chosen.
She's peering through the smoking lies, the shards of broken trust.
She moves her legs, then starts to run,
cutting through the dust.
Pushing aside the people, the places and the past.
she hollers out her war cry, victory at last.
And while the world's illustration,is a scape of true unrest.
She's painting a new world as she battles through her quest.
Her pitch black sky is clear, a pearly blue that shines
The path she marches on, has no more crooked lines.
The thunder stopped and the storm around her died.
Her ocean once consisting of painful tears she'd cried,
now filled with water, so pure and sweet, no longer needs to hide.
She's built a new world to host her soul, she designed its veiw inside.
When she dreams, she sings. And when she thinks, she knows.
And when she makes decisions, all she does is, grows.
Floating jewels and romantic flowers,
Glitter rain and magical powers.
Gentle songs that please, caress.
Warm hugs pop up through any mess.
Soft finger, that lifts up her chin,
Who's this so kind and without sin?
She asks, tell me who and what you are,
That shines on me Just like a star?
She hears her very own voice reply.
It's always been just you and I.

- Comment from author about the poem: I have noticed quite a few writes on depression lately, as someone with experience of chronic depression who recovered, I know more than most how lost and hopeless one can feel in that frame of mind. When you are in it, There SEEMS to be no way out! But there really is and its all in the mind. Change how you think it will change how you feel but its so much easier said than done.
