Valley

Ford1992

I was lost

 Beneath the steel night.

   The moon with pervert eyes.

Maidens came who I knew

With serpents around limbs and feet.

I asked the silver light to cleave

      My head in two.

Unbosom the kinship of the night

                  And I

With all my tender angels

            To leave me

into the

Inextinguishable night
