Or Happier At Least

Carl Halling

I was happy,

TV nightly,

As a family,

Simple pleasures,

Any Umbrellas?

Family holidays,

I was happy,

Perhaps the world was happy,

Or happier at least.

  • Comment from author about the poem: "Or Happier At Least" was written - almost certainly quickly - during a bout of intense melancholia, tinged with nostalgic longing, as I recall, sometime in 2014; although the depression swiftly lifted, destined to return some time thereafter.
