Belly Button Lint

Ken

Oh belly button lint, belly button lint

How are you this fine day?

I know that I removed you

And said you could not stay

I wash my clothes and dry them

Taking care to be lint free

When I take my shirt off

There you are staring back at me

Like socks in the dryer

Two go in and one comes out

Another unsolved mystery

The truth without a doubt

I know you’re soft and fuzzy

Curled up in your favorite spot

End this game of hide and seek

No? That’s just what I thought

Oh belly button lint, belly button lint

How are you this fine day?

It’s useless to remove you

I guess you’re here to stay

  • Comment from author about the poem: Thought that I would try to take a turn towards something a little more on the happy side. Believe it or not I do come from beneath the darkness on occasion. Enjoy. :)
