Happy New Year

A time of contemplation
As the year draws to its close
A pause to count my blessings
I've had so many of those

Is that I've been lucky
Or have I just learned to see
The magic in the moment
That captures life's serenity

The beauty that glows in a smile
The joy in a mother's heart
The first kiss between two lovers
Sunshine when a new day starts

There will always be sadness
Life can sometimes seen unfair
Times when our many troubles
Feel more than we can bear

But if you sit in silence
And wonder if anyone's there
You may find God in the stillness
And an answer to your prayer

So go in peace my friends
May you never know fear
But a life filled with laughter
And a very Happy New Year
