Indigo Sky

d.e.mayall

Each night I peer,
Across,
The indigo sky,
Whilst darkness creeps forward,
I ask myself why.

The Mistakes in my life, the misguided trust,
Shattered loyalties,
Of friendships,
Could certainly thrust.

Thrust down into darkness,
Within a world of despair,
Where life runs in turmoil,
With no-one to share.

To share in my life,
The good times and bad,
To smile when I’m happy,
To cry when I’m sad.

As I watch each of the stars,
Ignite into view,
I fill,
More, with questions,
Than answers,
It’s confusingly true.

Then I look all around me,
The answers are there,
The riches of family,
And others that care.

But just like the night,
Its darkness will fade,
Slowly replaced,
By an orange, red, violet parade.

A majestic beauty,
The days warming glow,
The early dawn sunrise,
Attempting to show.

To show how lucky I am,
To have someone so dear,
And hold something so precious,
It all becomes clear.

So next time I question,
And ask myself why,
I will look to the heavens,
Then smile,
At,
The indigo sky.

To think these colors come from from light divided, when seen whole it is either light or dark. Black and white make these wonderous colors just as joy and pain give memories the colors they have.
