Flying High

From an adolescent child, I've grown into quite an intelligent  woman.
Only 20 years old and what I've encountered were lessons learned.
Lessons I thought were suppose to happen when i was much older.

Bullying students until they break down into a sea of tears.
Smoking at a young age just to forget every detail of the day,
To fly around in my imaginative utopia,
Love never went wrong and school didn't choose sides.
Friends stuck together till the end of time.

Depression once was a joke to us kids, but then grew to some unfortunate.
Suicidal thoughts and self harm came to form.
Losing yourself to the wrong crowds,
A gateway drug formed and kids found a way to relax.

Those feeling lonely and unloved fell into horrific scenes.
Woman and men mentally and physically scarred,
Insecurities accompanied by disappointment and self blame.
Brainwashed into thinking everything is their fault.
Trying to have their darkness love them.

Racial thrashing, baby mamas trying to have the fathers stay.
Nonstop cursing and the streets filled with trash.
Woman waiting for men to pick them up from street corners...

In 20 years I've seen a lot happen.
So much went from a trouble child to depressed and hurting teen,
Into a broken hearted woman who just started life.

Hoping to see a better future,
Not for herself but for others with negativity in their lives.
Others who need inspiration.

The troubled became the successful,
We have finally made it to our happy day.
Flying high in reality
