Not Enough

Bri_lovee2160

Outstretched hands beg for more
Eyes dry, and bellies malnourished
The desperate stick their hands
Where they don’t belong
Only to find lint and loose change
Lining the rich man’s pockets
They discover
There is not enough
Not enough to share
Not enough to want
Not enough to feel whole again
Broken spirits and wanting hearts
Fear what they can’t understand
Feeding their souls with pride to survive
Their jealously becomes starving
It is no longer enough to ask
The desperate take what is not theirs
Because it will never be enough
Not enough to share
Not enough to feel whole
Not enough to be free from desire
Outstretched hearts search for more
Consciences dry, and hopes malnourished
The desperate put their faith
Where it doesn’t belong
Only to find greed and false promises
Lining desires pockets
They must discover
That in reality there will never be enough
Not enough honesty
Not enough money
Not enough security
For those who are desperate
Disguising their want for need
And who never truly seek for
Enough to be enough…
