Worthlessness

Sarah_and_Elizabeth

Speak in honesty! Speak in truth!

I try.

What do I have to prove and why to you?

You nameless monster with your empty threats!

That alI I am might ever be worth it.

I make myself small. I close my eyes tight.

I wait for the darkness to make things right.

Count seconds behind cool, dark lids that hide,

as I wait for the monster to subside.
