I am in my twilight years
The sun isn't rising for me
It is setting
My past is becoming
A fading memory
My future is shrouded
In a mist
What is missing
In my life
What have I missed
It doesn't matter
Soon the vale of darkness
Will cover me
Like it has to those
Who came before me
And to those who come
After me
I am in my twilight years

- Comment from author about the poem: Our twilight years are not bad thing, they are a good thing. As the years go by I try to concentrate on the good things in life, not the bad.

Each day we breathe is a gift from above. As we age, we have more to contribute to the younger generation through our life experiences. Also, think of aging as a stepping stone to eternal life.
