Don’t dwell on the darkness, It feeds on your pain
It welcomes the sadness, then hurts you again
It wants to destroy you, however it can
beware of the demon, take care of the man
don’t whisper a promise, it might be misheard
a happier future, can hang on a word
don’t smile while your laughing, and breaking your heart
for that’s when the anger ,and bitterness starts
don’t promise a future, built on the past
that kind of a promise, is weak and won’t last
don’t open your arms, say welcome begin
your feelings will waver, allowing emptiness in
don’t tell me you love me, to make me feel good
my heart it is pounding, like a true lovers should
I have tasted the moment, and drunk from the vine
My defenses are slipping, as I wish you were mine
Don’t cling to a promise, when it is frail
Leaving you hurting, listless and pale
For love is a demon, wears an age old disguise
When the kisses are sweeter, bringing tears to your eyes
