Tic Toc

Mike carter

The clock is ticking

Tick toc

But what is missing

Tic toc

All the moments

we lived through

All the dreams

I dreamed of you

Don’t you understand

my tears

Never could

conceal my fears

Midnights chiming now

Tic toc

Echoes from the hallway clock

Tic toc

It seems so quiet

here and still

So many empty

hours to fill

I hear your laughter

in my mind

Your memories

live there all the time

The hands are turning

Tic toc

I’m full of yearning tic toc

We held each other

through the night

Hid our pain locked

out of sight

There was so much

we didn’t say

As darkness slowly

turned to day

the clock needs winding

tic toc

for if I don’t time will stop

tic toc

she said goodbye

I tasted pain

I would not

see her again

She left the scars

of love behind

To break this lonely

Heart of mine

The clock is ticking

Tic toc, tic toc
