Endless dates and phone calls.
Late nights and early mornings.
A meeting of the minds.
A soul connection so deep.
I’ve revealed the darkest parts of my psyche.
The parts I hide from the world in fear.
An old, open book.
Dusty and worn are my pages.
And you know all the chapters by heart.
Can even recite the contents with your eyes closed in the dark.
Our laughter is synchronistic, echoing hyenas in the darkness.
Our spirits intertwined like vines on grape-trees.
But you say you don’t love me.
That you don’t want me.
Yet, you aroused my heart,
knowing you had every intention to break me.
