Come near me not, she had said
“For if you do, I’ll wilt away
Leave me be, there still is time
While escape - it’s still at bay
While you and I, we still can swim
Away from this, dreadful brim
Of a monstrous air, a raging ghoul
Whose ‘love’, it is a pseudonym
Don’t come close, don’t you dare
Not a single step, please stay right there
Don’t frighten me, I wish you’d see
How misleading, life can be
"Adoration is no fun and games
It is an erratic hurricane
That clouds your wit, turns you blind
And an injured heart it leaves behind
Yes, love is blind, I’ve come to know
Through painful times, and bitter woes
And drags and doles and rues and blows
And solitude that no one knows
"So I say, again dear friend
My heart can only take so much
Don’t talk to me, don’t say a word
‘cause if you do, I’ll wilt away
Melt away, dehumanize
Desensitize from what I’ve left
And what’s more worst, is you will see
I’ll take you too, down with me
"So be wise
Realize
Leave me be”
I stayed stubborn, but yet she tried
She closed her eyes, and opened mine
From a tale of a girl and the ones she adored
But a girl that didn’t exist anymore
From a tale of misfortunes brought to her
By that simple, easy, instinctive spur
And I sat there still, listening in awe
Seeing as I listened, believing as I saw
And to her dismay, I not only saw
But admired the life out of her
Had it been me, I’d have caved in
But no, she was strong, she was forgiving
And no matter what happened, she’s still believing
Still going on, perceiving, not grieving
I say, “But don’t look away
Joy comes in all shapes and sizes
And when it does
You have to realize it
Because in the end, there’s that girl still waiting
For her story to have a happy ending
Take a leap of faith, let go, be brave
To justify for the love she gave”
And a smile I see as her face tightens
And as this happens, the whole world brightens
And my mind confirms with vigor and verve
That she’ll get the love that she deserves
