Stranger

CicakRusak

These stars are not my stars

Nor this sky the one I know

Strange eyes stare at me

Everywhere I go

The birds and trees and flowers

Are all so very queer

But this place is now my home

For one lovely, lonely year

I wrote this poem at the beginning of my exchange in Indonesia. It was a very hard year, but I wrote this poem with great optimism. Alas, it wasn't a lovely year.

Hi Andie, You have to be pulling my leg, because damn you are a great at poet. This poem is even better then the last one (Disenchanted) I read. I loved the imagery it illustrated in my mind’s eye all the way throughout the poem. AWESOME READ! VaV-VOOM!
