Unspoken

archiescott

Spoken yet unspoken,

my love for you is true

I feel such emotion,

when I think of you.

The little glance,

a caring touch,

in my heart a dance,

you mean so much.

But you don’t see me

in that way.

Your life so carefree;

I shouldn’t stay.

But stay I do,

Close as a rule.

Just to be near you,

I’m such a fool.

But not for being

In love with you.

It’s just for knowing,

you’d say you knew.

My life is empty

if you’re away a while.

But it’s really he,

who makes you smile.

I want to tell you

how I really feel.

To ruin a friendship?

It’s no big deal?

If I could hold you,

and you hold me.

I’d speak my words true,

and at peace I’d be.

Your heart lies elsewhere.

And we’re just friends,

My emotions unfair,

truths break, not mend.

It’s best kept quiet,

that my heart is broken.

Emotions could run riot,

So it must stay, unspoken.
