Windy Day

Severus Alexander

Sometimes on a windy day

I look out through the window

a tree in the wind will sway

and leaves will fall in silence

The tree is wild and knotted

sticks upon the earth, dry and cracked

no bird will perch upon its bows

no leaves of green lie in the grass

In the night it calls to me

a lonely sound, softly whispered

Into a fearful, far-off land

where nightmares rest by light of day

Yea Severus, but rest assured the sun will rest, the night will come and again the nightmares will have their way.
