What Stops For You

wandering-wonderings

I sit down on my couch
The same place you used to sit
Where you'd hold me all through the weekend
I wait for you
But you never show

I turn on your favorite song
And your voice is clear, singing right along
But the room remains empty
The song still plays on

I text your number
Feeling drunk without a single drink
I get no reply
My phone keeps working

I scream your name into the darkness
My echo replies
But you leave me hopeless
The wind blows on

Nothing stops just because you've left
But I'd rather have lost my heart beat than have lost you
My brain stops ticking
My heart stops working
My breath stops forming
But you're no where to be found
This only leaves me with one question:
How are you doing without me?
