Molly

jesstarran809

The corn leaves sprout up high,

whilst the sun blinds out on us.

She bounds through the leaves,

her ears pointing to the sky as she jumps.

The sounds of the soothing water call us,

while the bridge sits in tatters.

She dives in to the sparkling waters,

looking up at me.

Her tongue flaps to the side,

drooling, smiling, waiting.

But she falls, trying and failing to come back to me.

I hold her head in my arms,

my arm encircling her neck.

I feel her life slip away from me,

her last breath, her last heartbeat, her last movement.

Torn, I leave her there, on the table,

in the sterilised, cold, empty room. I ran.

Never had I felt so alone,

so dead inside.

I feel nothing,

nothing will ever bother me.

Never will I be able to feel such a great pain,

and that excites me.

But I ended it, I made the decision,

I killed her that day, with her I killed myself.

I can feel your pain throughout this poem, I relate to your feelings too. Good job, and I'm very sorry for your loss.
