Glass

Tyrell_Jordan

Glass

When the sun rises and the sky is blue.

There you see a piece of glass

No imperfections, because it's brand new

Wondering how long it will last.

Over time as it is used

It begins to become stained;

It was not used by anyone but you,

Yet you still keep its beauty sustained.

Sitting there always grateful

Cause it is small on the grand scale;

Something that is very beautiful

But at the same time very frail.

The pieces have broken apart

There they are sitting on the floor.

They will stay in my heart

And be remembered forever-more.

We hoped that it would last forever

Now it's broken, it's shattered.

Sadly it can't be put back together,

So it's existence didn't matter.

But it still lives on

It is inside your heart,

And even though it is gone

It's memory lives on in the glass shards.

So even though it didn't stay forever

In a way it did last.

In your heart the fragments are together

You'll always remember that piece of glass.
