Living

G-Kaphen

War is the water in our lungs.
Don’t tell me that we need it, I’d rather be breathing in oxygen than sulphur
I’d rather live, than die.

They teach us at the age of three to sort out our conflicts like people and talk, not to fight like animals,
But at age 16 you can abandon all of your morals
Just to be seen as a hero in societies eyes, whilst the media feeds us more and more lies
“War is good, it’s the reason we survived”
They scream from a television screen, whilst they show us pictures of a desolate scene.

This is not how I want to live.
Watching war become the dream
whilst I’m told to turn the other cheek and pray to god that they won’t hit me

This is not how I want to live.
War becoming clear on the horizon,
More and more people dying
Still praying that they won’t hit me.

This is not, how I want to live.
